One of the many benefits of our Mindful Movement classes is that it’s a place for learning.

You get to slow down and really be present, focus on the cues, the positions, the lingo, and learn new strategies and skills.

And in two weeks, on June 14th, we’re doing a free, 1-hour workshop taught by pelvic floor physical therapist Kelsey Karnes of Move Smart Physical Therapy.

It’s going to be Mindful Movement: Pelvic Floor Edition!

You’ll learn skills that will help you in higher-stress situations, like lifting weights, jumping, sneezing, sex, whatever it may be. It’s important to break movement down into digestible pieces so you can actually learn and implement them.

Let’s say you’re out rock climbing in the wilderness, and you a newbie. There are snakes and spiders crawling up the rocks. Your coach yells out mid-climb, “Hey, focus on your hand technique! Shift your weight more into your toes!”

Probably not the time to work on becoming a more efficient climber.

You’re not thinking about new skills.

That’s why climbers spend hours and hours in controlled environments, sometimes completely fabricated, padded gyms, where they can slow down, take it step by step, and really pay attention without the fear of falling or being bit.\

This is what helps them get to the point where they don’t have to think about those skills in more intense environments.

Pelvic floor training is the same

If you’re leaking during hard workouts, peeing every hour, having pain during sex, or cramping so badly it feels like someone’s stabbing you from behind, it might be time to slow down and learn new skills, ones you can practice consistently.

The Mindful Movement: Pelvic Floor Edition is designed to help you do just that.
